I need to learn more about how to change myself, instead of tying to change my husband. Submitting is very difficult for me, from my experience growing up and my pre-Jesus days submitting meant and mostly still means doormat. I am on a journey to be closer to God, and by being closer to God, saving my marriage. After only being married for 2.5 years we hit a bump and there was an affair. Instead of leaving and taking the kids with me, I told him I would fight for him. We made a covenant to God and Im not going to end up on the wrong side of a statistic. As someone still trying to work on picking a wedding date and marriage and wedding plans, I would love it if I could learn how to better humbly submit to and encourage my future husband even before we are married. I think this could help me a lot, as I have seen through my relationship with him that I struggle to not lead, although I am it supposed. God has definitely been working to humble me!
